Who are we?

We’ve been married for 16 years and met whilst working together in an art materials shop (the infamous ‘Rennie’s Arts and Crafts’ of Bold St, Liverpool, RIP). After living and working in London for 10 years we made the decision to move ‘back home’ to the Wirral and ‘follow our dreams’ by setting up our own business. Emulsional Support combines all our best talents and best loves - paint, colour and design. We work across the Wirral and Liverpool, and sometimes we’re lucky enough to travel for special projects.

    I’ve been drawing and painting for as long as I can remember and it was just natural for me to do a BA in Fine Art at Liverpool John Moores. Since then I haven’t really stopped, you’ll never find me with out a sketchbook in my pocket. I’m always noticing things to get on paper and from the sketchbook, the studies can progress into paintings, many quite large scale! You can find my works available to purchase here.

    I really love the physical action of painting - might sound like a funny thing to enjoy. But the texture, the quality, and the process of actually doing it, it’s like meditation for me. It’s an absolute bonus that I get to help clients achieve their vision for their space.

    I have always considered design as a mindset without limits. I describe myself as a designer without prefix.

    I’ve explored packaging, product and spatial design. My BA at Liverpool John Moores was in Graphic Arts - you could use whatever medium to answer the brief. And that generosity of options stuck with me, so I don’t see the traditional separations between design practices. It’s all about creating an experience and an environment that speaks to you.

    I’ve worked in many design related roles over the years, spanning graphics, product, interior, store, events and experiential. My work continued into brand and marketing design and management, steering teams and agencies to get to the right results. It could be high pressured and stressful - but the thing that made me the most happy? People engaging and responding to what had been created. The inventiveness of creativity, brings so much joy!
